You must have good thoughts about life – Becoming a Pro Athlete

My Life: Becoming a professional athlete in a short amount of time requires incredible focus and dedication. To be a pro athlete you must make sacrifices and life changes that will seem crazy to the normal person. You must eliminate all noise such as political affiliations, limiting conversations and deep relationships with people that do not have the same focus and goals and additionally making radical nutritional and lifestyle changes necessary for recuperation. How to make life changes – I learned this when I started playing sports — when I allowed my mind to be led astray and distracted by negative things, or negative thoughts it resulted in decreased performance. Often my thoughts were influenced by the people around me or negative thinkers. Again the result is a failure! But when I learned how to squash, kill and eliminate negative thoughts and think positive I succeeded and felt better about my performance whether I won or lost. This discovery leads to me duplicating this over and over until I was able to create just about any habit I needed and do whatever I desired. It’s been invaluable to my performance, and I think it could be to most people.

Never Too Late To Start – Meditate on Positive Things

When I started riding motocross, I had never raced motorcycles. But I was passionate about the sport, so much so that I religiously watched motocross and Supercross on TV. In 2005 I bought VIP tickets to the first round of the national motocross series in Sacramento, California. This is like the PGA Tour, NBA playoffs and NFL Superbowl of the sport of motocross.

An Example of Positive Thinking

In the process, I met a pro athlete rider named Brett Metcalfe from Australia. At the time Brett was one of the best young riders in the world. Interestingly, he failed to make the main event and my VIP pass allowed me to speak to him for the rest of the event. At this point, it could be very easy for me to judge and for him to doubt. But we both never gave into negative thinking but rather focused on positive thoughts and actions that could manifest success! After speaking non stop about the psychology of sports, racing and peak performance, he challenged me to get a motorcycle and I told him he should read my book. Learning How to Think Positive will require you to take action and release old ways. Make a decision!

Positive Thinking Also Requires to Follow Through – Take Action

We both took each others’ advice…In 2006 I bought a motorcycle and he read my book. Not long after we formed a lifetime friendship. And coincidentally, I raced professionally at that same race about 4 years later. Was it tough? Yes. It was extremely tough and challenging on many fronts. But I was able to apply all the things I had learned through my previous experiences of being a collegiate track athlete and football player, an engineer in Silicon Valley and other life experiences. That taught me about focus, positive thinking, developing positive daily habits and repetition. Keep reading, as I will uncover every strategy and action I applied during the process. The keys on how to make life changes.

Change Your Life – Be a Pro: Step #2:

You Exercise and Focus Your Energy

Learning how to change your life requires you to create a life of exercise and wellness. Why? You must have the energy to run this race long enough to see the life changes you desire. If your life is bogged down with bad habits an absence of exercise which is counterproductive to making life changes, you will falter before reaching the finish line. To make life changes you must have the energy to follow through. So exercise is critical to developing a healthy body, mind, and soul. People who’ve been hearing me talk about exercise might frown. Sure exercise is healthy, but how is it life-changing? Learn How To Change Your Life and Stop The Nonsense

Exercise and Energy! Two of the keys to changing your life

It makes you feel better about YOU, more confident about your appearance, more energetic which results in success and other progressive life changes. Exercise is a positive habit, exercise results in positive thinking and positive thinking results in exercise It relieves stress, tension and clears your mind, this leads to better mental well-being in your life overall. It helps with creativity. Many times I am inspired by and come up with great ideas while I am working out and I’ll need to stop to write them down.

Life-Changing Synergy between Exercise and Energy

Exercise will boosts energy

Regular physical exercise activity can improve your muscle strength, health and boost your endurance. Exercise and physical exercise activity deliver necessary oxygen and powerful nutrients to your muscle tissues and help your heart cardiovascular system work more efficiently.   And when your heart and lungs work more efficiently, you have more energy to go about your daily activities. You need to have the energy to run the race, to even attempt to win.

Life-Changing Combination – Exercise and Success

Playing professional sports and exercise

As I talked about yesterday, when I was on my path to racing professional motocross, one of the key actions that helped me was the fact that I was in shape and had a strong, disciplined exercise routine. The fact that I was in shape allowed me to do the necessary work as far as practicing daily, riding consistently and even prevented me from injury. Given that injury would slow my progress. Exercise is a key component to success, you need to be in shape in order to run the race. As that relates to business, one must have the energy to make the phone calls, write the business plan, do the marketing research, meet with customers, it takes energy. And being in shape will make it that much easier. Stop procrastinating and take action….here!

How To Succeed: How To Be a Pro Athlete – Step #3:

To Succeed You Must Focus on excellence If you want to know how to change your life? You must focus on one goal, one thing, one vision. One of the common statements made among athletes, leaders, and people that desire to accomplish the uncommon goal is “focus.” Focusing on one task at a time is more effective. Focusing not only on your vision but your strategy and tasks that encompass the strategy will allow you to withstand the roadblocks, obstacles, and people that cannot understand what you are doing.

Successful Experiences Form Positive Thoughts

I use my motocross experience again as an example because I was very thoughtful about the process. I wanted to see if what I believed was true. Meaning if you combine certain character traits, with specific strategies and passion almost anything can be accomplished. This was the basis of the book “Don’t Stop The Swagger.” Learn How To Change Your Life Now Learning how to succeed will require you to block out the silent observers, critics and even those that seem indifferent to all that you do. I encountered many critics along the way to my professional experience. I got laughed at because people figured there was no way someone in their adult years could improve fast enough to compete with teenagers and riders that had been riding or 15 years plus. But my only focus was the process, was practice, repetition, the details of riding and ignoring the critics which I will talk more about in DSTS. Focusing on one habit at a time is more effective than focusing on the entire process. Focus on mastering the details.

Focus on Excellence – The details not the critics!

While it might seem very hard, focusing on one habit or detail at a time is the most effective, efficient, profitable and powerful way to achieve your goals. For example, if you, an aspiring painter, don’t focus on painting the entire portrait but rather focus on holding the brush properly, focus on understanding the details of the color, focus on one stroke at a time. The details…the details… When you try to take on too many tasks at once you spread your energy and focus to thin. Focus on Excellence: From your vision create a strategy, from your strategy, create goals, from your goals, develop tasks, and from your tasks create habits. Now you have created the foundational habits that support the overall vision.

Pro athlete: Usually form Good habits at youth that make all the difference.

“Successful people maintain a positive focus in life no matter what is going on around them. They stay focused on their past successes rather than their past failures, and on the next action steps, they need to take to get them closer to the fulfillment of their goals rather than all the other distractions that life presents to them.” ~ Jack Canfield
